Steph Curtis joined Wall Colmonoy Limited in January 2014, bringing with him 30 years’ experience in strategic, operational and commercial management. He has worked in a broad range of industries with over 15 years as a P&L responsible director with major international plc’s and UK SME’s. His experience covers Steel, Concrete, Capital Goods (Electrical Switchgear) and Automotive (Brake systems, Fasteners, Electronics, Hybrid Electric high-tech start-up).
Steph has a strategy for Wall Colmonoy focused on continuous improvement and profitable growth. Steph provides leadership for a very capable management team and experienced workforce. He oversees all company operations to ensure a safe working culture and production efficiency with the goal of delivering quality products, excellent customer service and value.
Steph states, “I was delighted and privileged to be given the opportunity to lead Wall Colmonoy as its Managing Director in Europe. In the last three years we have transformed the business and are now focused on profitable growth in our diverse international markets. I am very excited about leading the company to even greater success”.
Commencing his career as a mechanical apprentice, Steph graduated with a 1st class BSc (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff University and gained an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Glamorgan. Steph is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, CEng FIMechE.
Robert Davies joined Wall Colmonoy Limited in March 2015, bringing with him 14 years’ experience in strategic, operational and engineering management. He has worked predominantly in the automotive industry with over 5 years P&L responsible as a Plant Manager. His experience covers assembly, precision machining and extrusion processes for safety critical steering systems, engine and seating components.
Rob’s strategy for UK Operations is focused on continuous improvement and profitable growth. Through leadership and coaching, Rob is driving further improvement within a very well established and capable workforce. He will oversee all company operations to deliver excellent product quality through measured process efficiency, whilst maintaining a safe working culture.
Robert states, “I am delighted with the opportunity to develop and grow Wall Colmony’s manufacturing portfolio. There are fantastic opportunities with new technology and the fine tuning of an already extensive range of world class processes. I am very excited about leading the operations to new ground and even greater success”.
Commencing his career as a toolmaking apprentice, Robert graduated with a BSc in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Glamorgan. Robert is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, a change agent with a proven track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
Nathan joined Wall Colmonoy in February 2013 as Distribution Channel Manager and has taken on ever-expanding roles and responsibilities. In November 2013, he assumed the position of Sales Manager and in October 2014 Nathan joined the senior management team and took on the full duties and responsibilities of Commercial Manager.
Nathan brings with him over 25 years’ experience in Customer Account Management with a vast knowledge and experience in Business procurement, global sourcing, purchasing and material management. His extensive management experience comes from his time working at Large Blue Chip companies such as Mitsubishi, where he worked for 12 years in a Managerial role, Hewlett Packard for 12 years where he worked in a Senior Managerial role and TVonics Solutions for 18 months where he worked in an Account Director’s role.
Promoted to Commercial Director in 2015, Nathan is responsible for all Commercial aspects for Wall Colmonoy Limited including sales, key account management, customer service, estimating, planning, and contracts. “I am very excited and privileged to be given the opportunity to manage the Commercial department at Wall Colmonoy, Pontardawe, Swansea. There are tremendous business development opportunities to be exploited in our European & International markets. I am very excited about leading the Customer service and External Sales team to even greater success”, states Nathan.
Nathan graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Glamorgan.
Ian Williams joined Wall Colmonoy Limited in October 2014 bringing with him 15 years’ experience in financial control and operational change management. Ian began his career with international accountancy firm PwC, and after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant Ian gained experience in financial services in the City of London before returning home to Wales to consolidate his skills as a Financial Controller in the SME sector. He gained further experience in the private sector businesses, engaging in property development, engineering, manufacturing and fast moving consumer goods.
Ian states “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead the financial management at Wall Colmonoy Limited. It is an exciting time to be with this long established company. I look forward to further developing the company’s strength and building a platform for profitable growth by establishing world class practices.”
Ian graduated from Cardiff University with a 1st class BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.
Health, Safety and Maintenance Manager
Leyton Russ joined Wall Colmonoy Limited in November 2014, bringing with him 26 years of experience from the Steel Industry in Maintenance and Health and Safety functions, including over 10 years in managerial positions.
Leyton’s strategy for Wall Colmonoy is focused on the health, safety and welfare of our employees and minimising our impact on the environment. Leyton is leading the campaign towards achieving a zero accident and zero harm culture by the engagement of our employees and modifying behaviour. Leyton has also established a very effective maintenance and engineering team that is improving plant up time and reliability and delivery major plant improvements projects.
Paul Wheel started his career as an Engineer, having qualified with a BEng Honours in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, later an MSc in Automotive Engineering, Design, Manufacture & Management. He joined Wall Colmonoy in 2009, with 16 years previous experience, of which 13 years were spent in the Automotive Industry. During his career Paul has gained experience within a number of different roles; Engineering, Project Management and Production, prior to moving into a Quality Management role while at Visteon.
Paul has in depth knowledge of Quality Systems; ISO9001, TS16949, AS9100, and quality engineering tools and techniques, and has implemented many initiatives since being at Wall Colmonoy.
Paul initially joined Aerobraze division of Wall Colmonoy Limited and successfully achieved AS9100 approval for the division. Following implementation of a new Business Operating System in 2011, Paul took on the responsibility of Quality Manager for the whole company and commenced the restructure of the Business Management System to align with the latest revisions of the International Standards, ensuring customer specific requirements are maintained. Paul continues to lead Wall Colmonoy in its pursuit of quality excellence.
Human Resources Manager
Julie Wright joined Wall Colmonoy Limited with 20 years’ experience working with senior managers to ensure the development and building of strong, focused teams from recruitment, retention, training, development and robust performance management. Julie brings experience from Financial Services, Global Engineering companies and Further Education Colleges.
Julie obtained a BA (Hons) 2:1 in Business at the University of Wales College, Cardiff and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development MCIPD.
At Wall Colmonoy, Julie carries out the strategic vision and upholds the core values through hands-on leadership, coaching and support for all levels of employees within the business. Her personable approach, resilience and the ability to transfer strategic plans into tangible operational deliverables has been key to supporting the transformational change management programmes.
