Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze specializes in a number of brazing services to meet your metal joining needs. With eight brazing/heat treating furnaces that handle work loads of up to 10 tons and quality assurance procedures to aerospace requirements, Wall Colmonoy Dayton has the capabilities and experience to handle as much (or as little) a work load as needed for your brazing service operation.
Brazing is broadly defined as a group of joining processes that produce coalescence by the melting and subsequent resolidification of a brazing filler metal or brazing alloy in the space between surfaces to be joined. In the process of brazing, the temperature of the assembly to be brazed is raised to a point where the brazing filler metal or brazing alloy becomes molten and fills the joint gap between base materials. The interaction between the molten filler metal or brazing filler metal and the base metal results in the establishment of a metallurgical bond when the filler metal or brazing alloy solidifies. Diffusion brazing further strengthens the brazed joints.
Wall Colmonoy Corporation is the pioneer in furnace brazing at high-temperature using nickel-based brazing alloys. Furnace brazing is a mass production brazing service for producing various size steel assemblies, using a nonferrous brazing filler metal or brazing alloy as the joining material and a furnace as the heat source. Furnace brazing is practical if the filler metal can be placed on the joint before brazing and retained in position during brazing.
Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze has eight brazing/heat treating furnaces available around the clock to meet your brazing services needs, including:
- The world’s largest top-loading vacuum furnace at 120” dia. x 180” high, available around the clock to meet your heat treating needs and they work in a wide variety of atmospheres such as vacuum, argon, nitrogen, and pure dry hydrogen.
- An Ipsen Abar 6-bar quench horizontal vacuum furnace, 48" x 48" x 60".
