Iron-Based Brazing Filler Metals for Applications Requiring High Strength and Ductility
A range of cost effective iron-based Brazing Filler Metals, known as Niferobraz™ are available for evaluation as substitutes for nickel-based filler metals. They are available as powder, in a range of sieve sizes, or suspended in ‘S’ Binder™. Niferobraz™ filler metals, when supplied as specialized screen printing paste, produce excellent results.
Our specially formulated Niferobraz™ iron-based Brazing Filler Metals have a high chromium content, which provides excellent oxidation resistance through 1800°F (982°C)*. Niferobraz™ is used across such global industries as Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Food and Beverage, Medical Equipment, Power Engineering, Marine, Aerospace and Military.
Applications include Heat Exchangers, EGR Coolers, Catalytic Converters, Fuel Cells, Batteries, Potable Water Systems, and other assemblies that incorporate large surface areas with multiple braze joints.

Many customers have specific brazing applications that require customized brazing alloys and brazing products in order to achieve required joining properties. Wall Colmonoy’s expert technical team and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities are able to customize brazing products for your specific application.
Brazing Powder: Atomized in -106 and -45μm (-140and -325 mesh size). Other mesh sizes can be custom-made. Other mesh sizes can be custom-made upon request.
Brazing Pastes: Powder alloy premixed with proprietary binders to produce viscous paste suspensions. For Dispensing, for Screen Printing, for Roller Coating: Nicrobraz® ‘S’ brazing filler metals are filler metal powders mixed with gel binder and packaged in air applicator cartridges (100, 227 and 567 grams (3.5, 8 and 20 ounces (net weight) of ‘S’ filler metal), hand syringes ( 100 grams (3.5 ounces) (net weight) of ‘S’ filler metal and are made of plastic for one-time use) or bulk containers (available on special order in 8 lb. (3.6 kg.) jars for use in pressure-fed systems).

Niferobraz™ powders are stable under normal atmospheric conditions; therefore, a recommended shelf life is not given for these products. These alloy materials do not degrade, under normal storage conditions. If these materials are stored in unopened containers, and kept free from contamination, they will be usable for an indefinite period of time.

The shelf life of Niferobraz™ Brazing Paste materials is a minimum range of three to nine months (see bulletin). This means that the material will last at least that long and much longer, when properly stored in closed containers. There is no deterioration of the brazing filler metal itself. As long as the material will extrude from the cartridge satisfactorily, it is still usable.
