AS CAST OR FULLY MACHINED COMPONENTS
An Integrated Approach – Casting, Heat Treating and Machining All from One Source
Engineered cast or fully machined components are designed to optimize wear, corrosion, abrasion and heat resistant properties. Made from Colmonoy®, Wallex® or customer-specific alloys using Investment, Centrifugal, Sand Cast, Vacuum Cast or Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) Processes. Used throughout aerospace, automotive, chemical food processing, glass, marine, oil & gas, power generation and steel industries.
Investment – offers design flexibility, close dimensional control, consistency & repeatability, cost savings.
Centrifugal or Spin – is used to produce high integrity densely structured, cylindrical components like bushes and sleeves.
Sand – is typically used to produce larger components in smaller batches. It is capable of making mostly complex shapes using relatively inexpensive wood or resin patterns.
Vacuum Casting – is used for alloys where tight compositional control and low inclusion counts are required – difficult to achieve when using conventional air melting and casting.
Hot Isostatic Pressing – forms pore free bars or tubes with a fine grain homogeneous structure that enhances the physical properties of the cast alloy.
All components can be offered in the as cast, proof machined or finish machined condition.

The Colmonoy® family of Nickel, Chrome Boron Alloys offer superior wear protection, retaining their hardness up to 600ºC (1000ºF) while maintaining significant resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Colmonoy® 30D, 40D, 40G, 5 and 6 Alloys contain Chromium Boride crystals making the alloys extremely resistant to abrasive wear.
The Wallex® family of cobalt alloys is used primarily for all wear applications, particularly Wallex® 4 and 12. Wallex® is a Cobalt-Chromium-Tungsten formulation which achieves exceptional high temperature corrosion resistance while maintaining hot hardness at elevated temperatures. Wallex® 20/1040 is highly suitable for Food and Canning applications, whilst Wallex® 180 and 6 has extensive use in Steel Industry galvanising process applications, where corrosion is a factor.
Many customers have applications that require specific alloys in order to achieve required properties.
Wall Colmonoy’s expert technical team and state-of-the-art facilities are able to meet specific customer requirements.
